Vickers Airship, R80, Walney Island. The Forward Gondola

The forward gondola of the airship with an inflated landing buffer underneath. One of the rear wing cars in view in the background. Many men holding guy ropes. Men in the gondola and a portion of the propellor in view. Possible photographer front left. R80 started as a naval airship in November 1917. It first flew on 19 Jul 1920 but it was damaged and repairs took until Jan 1921. It was scrapped in 1925 after flying for only 73 hours in total.
