View across the Market Square in Millom from the church entrance. Central is the clock tower and Council offices. On the far side, Mills and Sons 'Department Store' with the library beyond. The horse-drawn ice cream cart is left and another horse waits to the right. In the centre two motor cars – taxi or bus? – are waiting. Nicholson, newsagent and Beesley’s draper with awning and men with bikes.
