Public Events

In the early years of the 20th century people didn’t travel anywhere nearly as far, or as often, as we do now. A result of this was that any local public event was well supported by its community. These sample images show just a few, from the opening of the Coast Road and The King’s Hall, to the Royal visits to the town. Back in 1922 it was shoulder to shoulder for the library opening.
