Oronsay Fire

Oronsay launched on 30 June 1950 but caught fire during its fitting out at Buccleuch Dock on 28th October 1950. It burnt for three days and a considerable amount of damage was caused. Photo taken from High Level Bridge shows vessel on fire with a 20 degree port list caused by the tugboat fire hydrants' water entering its bilges.
