Orient Line Orcades

Orcades passing Piel to leave Walney Channel observed by a number of onlookers near Roa Island Lifeboat Station, including a school group. Orcades was requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two and used as a troopship until sunk by U172 off South Africa in 1942.
