Stratheden Buccleuch Dock
1937-38
Stratheden was launched on 10th June 1937 at Vickers Armstrong, Barrow for P&O for its UK to Australia run. She was requisitioned by the Admiralty during World War Two and was extensively used as a troopship in both theatres of war. The photograph shows her in the fitting-out berth, Buccleuch Dock, Barrow, with the crane lifting the funnel on to the ship. She was scrapped in 1969.
