"Virginia House' Mount Pleasant Barrow in Furness Dear Daisy Thanks for P.C. Glad to hear everything- is alright. I sent a P C home last Monday I don't know what happened to it. We had a picnic at this place yesterday. We are having a lovely time. They are all looking forward to seeing you. I think I am bringing Hazel back with me. See you soon. Love from Old Beda.”

Date Posted: | Newbiggin Bay is situated on the A5087 Coastal Road between Roose and Ulverston. It commands views of Morecambe Bay towards Morecambe. Unfortunately this stretch is dangerous due to quicksands, shifting channels and rapidly incoming tides. Sadly 2004 some Chinese migrants lost their lives cockle picking in this area. | |
