| Date Posted: | Sussex gardens address now a hotel. Corby ferry rowing boat operated until 1954. Ferryman lived in the white cottage depicted in the card image. Location is in Wetheral/Great Corby/ Carlisle area. Pre NHS some people had medical/dental insurance as a result of being a member of a friendly society or trade union.( Joe sender was a member of a fs) Bristol Post source for some history | |
