Situated in a large slate quarry two workmen and a cart horse are posing for the photographer. One man is holding the horse the other is leaning on a bogy loaded with slate. They are standing in front of a stone and timber building, possibly a winding house. Empty railway truck next to the men and four others loaded with slate to the right.
