Portrait view. Romney's Cottage, the artist's early home, looking very dilapidated, prior to renovation by the Furness Railway in 1909. A standard gauge railway track goes to the end of the quarry floor, and a barrel sits on the edge of a pool of waste water at the foot of the cliff-face.
