Walney Ferry
Early 20th century
The Walney Steam Passenger Ferry Number 2 on Walney side of the channel. Loading ramp is down, it is crowded with passengers and horse drawn carts loaded with goods. All passengers are men and boys. A chain type ferry, the two large chains are running up the landing ramp. A boy is watching from the ramp. Low tide, various boats grounded on shore. Houses, industrial buildings and crane on far side.
