Shop front of James Nelson and Sons butchers, Dalton road. Several carcasses displayed in the window and hanging on hooks above and around the window and door. Two butchers and young apprentice stood in front of door, all wearing white aprons, and two have knife sharpeners hanging from belts at their waists. Another man stood behind butcher. Stout gentleman stood to left, display cart on right, other people at sides of picture. Cookson's Stationers to the left.
