"Ulpha Vicarage Thursday Many thanks for your letter and the cheque. I received your letter from Kidderminster yesterday Glad all is well, what a lot of news. Yesterday it rained Very hard, we went in the car to Bootle & a ride on a miniature railway this lovely scenery. This gives you some idea of the country. Is not the church sweet? We girls fish for eels in the river at the bottom of the garden. great fun we caught one & skinned it. We are going out again today if it is not too wet. it is pouring again now. Hilda & all send their love. Just had a letter from the Vet at Oxford the horse is better so we are going back there on sat. I have written to Gladys & told her to make her own plans if I am too late to go with her love marjery ”
