Looking southeast from the northern end of Bassenthwaite Lake (near the Pheasant Inn) towards Ullock Pike and Skiddaw. A sleek rowing boat is blurred in the foreground, with 4 occupants. The grass embankment below the trees on the right carries the railway from Penrith to Cockermouth and beyond, closed in April 1966.
