Looking east-northeast on a near-cloudless, late summer afternoon from near the low water mark towards the village of Seascale, partly divided by the railway line and station which may be crossed by footbridge or road under-bridge. Church, water tower, hotel and goods shed are prominent in the centre while, on the right, shops meet the needs of the holiday-makers. The beach is exceptionally busy, families relax or chat, some stroll while children play, some in the pools of sea-water. The image is titled 'H493 Seascale from the Beach' for postcard printing purposes.
