Looking north from an elevated location, two pairs of cottages and a third are set back at different distances from the road behind forecourt gardens. With several trees behind a stone wall opposite, they frame a view of (the Duddon) estuary and Lakeland hills. A woman in a light coloured hat stands at the door of the second cottage. Down the road, roofs of houses and a school are seen at the top of Ireleth village among trees.
